Hər il Türkiyədə Asiya qitəsindən Avropaya Bosfor boğazından üzərək keçmək mərasimi düzənlənir. Bu mərasim "qitələrarası kütləvi üzmə" adlanır. Özünü suların ağuşuna atan insanlar 6 kilometrdən çox məsafəni üzərək keçirlər.

Bu il Asiyadan Avropaya Bosfor boğazından üzərək keçmək arzusundə olanların sayı çox olub. Belə ki, 55 ölkədən 2419 nəfər 30-cu illik qitələrarası üzmə krossuna qatılıblar. Onların arasında peşəkar idmançılarla yanaşı, həvəskar üzgüçülər də olub.

Üzmə prosesinə İstanbulun Asiya hissəsindəki Kanlıca iskələsində (dənizdə, göldə gəmilərin yanaşması üçün körpü) start verilib. Üzgüçülər şəhərin Avropa hissəsindəki Beşiktaş rayonunun Quruçeşmə Cəmil Topuzlu parkına qədərki 6,5 km məsfəni üzməli olublar.

Kişilər arasında finişə ən tez Şimali Kipr Türk Respublikasının vətəndaşı olan Doğukan Ulaç çatıb. O, bu məsafəni 46 dəqiqə 58 saniyəyə üzüb. Qadınlar arasında isə finişə türk idmançı Hilal Zeynəb Saraç çatıb. O, bu məsafəni 50 dəqiqə 30 saniyəyə qət edib.

İllik üzmə krossu Türkiyə Milli Olimpiya Komitəsinin təşkilatçılığı ilə keçirilir. İştirakçıların qeydiyyatı yanvarda başlayır. Arzu edən hər kəs öz gücünü yoxlamaq imkanına malikdir. Bu tədbirdə iştirak etmək üçün tələb olunan ödənişin məbləği 120 avrodur.
